  •  He ran over his brother's body (7+ / 0-)

is one story I heard, though if brother had on a suicide vest, that would have been awfully dangerous.

The shooting and possible explosion of that vest apparently created enough of a distraction that he was able to blow through a blockade, possibly because of a fear of explosives.

I'm not sure they wanted to shoot at an SUV that they believed to be holding explosive devices.

also had been shot and was lying on the ground. (I'm suspecting panic, at that point.)

face down on the sidewalk last night. They assumed he was just following police orders and was on the ground with his arms and legs spread.

The news anchor pointed out that his eyes weren't open and there seemd to be blood near his head.

This was before they connected this to the Marathon bombers. They stopped showing this video within a half hour after they learned that a person had been taken into custody a had died. They realized that they had a video of a guy who had just died. I wondered whether this looked like the black hat guy but he was face down and it was hard to tell. His jawline was visible and seemed to match the pictures. The station's policy is to avoid showing death and mayhem.

An hour later it was confirmed that this was the black hat guy.

Oh, yeah. It was obvious that he had been run over. Tire tracks were clearly visible.
