If a drone aircraft were thought to be useful, and if one were available, is there any reason now that it can't be used over Boston or any place else in the U.S.?

A number of states are passing laws requiring a warrant with probable cause for their use. Massachusetts is thinking about it.

Armed drones over sporting events would be just the thing for making sure that we kill more innocent victims than the bombers do, as in Afghanistan. <\snark>

      •  Thanks. Did you notice that (0+ / 0-)
the bills would permit the use of drones in instances where information is obtained without the intent of future usage in criminal proceedings.
In other words: even if the MA bill were to pass, it would have no relevance in this situation.

Also: I don't understand your 'snark' paragraph at all. Can you explain it?

Drones With an Eye on the Public Cleared to Fly - NYTimes.com

Under the new law, within 90 days, the F.A.A. must allow police and first responders to fly drones under 4.4 pounds, as long as they keep them under an altitude of 400 feet and meet other requirements

when one kid dares another to climb up the flashlight's beam to the ceiling and the other responds "I'm no fool; you'll turn it off when I get to the top."?

I.e., the stupider commenting on the stupid, right?
