Ok, the lockdown except for the immediate neighborhood where the kid is in a boat has been lifted.  Happy now?  If you can't understand the need for asking folks to stay in their homes during a crisis involving guns and explosives then I don't know what to say.

If you can cite for me the last time there was a serious shooting/explosive incident where the locals didn't "lock down" a school or neighborhood for a period of time -- let us know.

I'm getting tired of folks here who think protecting citizens from a potential unknown disaster is a bad thing -- aka polic state.

    •  A neighborhood, a campus, a few city blocks, sure. (0+ / 0-)

As I said in my previous post.  But shutting down an entire major city is crazy.  They didn't lock down London after the 7/7 bombings.

It is a sign of a growing police state, without a doubt.
