the best mistake story I've heard was the guy at the homebrew club who didn't notice that the previous customer at the store had set the digital scale to metric. So he had 7 kilos of malt instead of 7 lbs and finally figured it out when he calculated his efficiency as 130%. He had a "kolsch" with an OG around 1080.

[since the manager of the store is also in the club and heard the story, he eventually paid the extra $10 or so he owed them].

at my main wholesale supplier needs glasses or needs his caffeine taken away. On a pallet order two months ago, I got 5 extra cases of wine bottles instead of two 6-gallon carboys. Two weeks ago I got 16 one pound bags of DME instead of 16 three pound bags. Today I got 10 one pound bags of Cascade hops instead of 10 one ounce bags. That's some money I hadn't planned on spending, but I'd rather keep it than go through the hassle of sending it back. And, I did sell one right away.
And then I sometimes have UPS Specials resulting from their clumsiness. Remember the Tom Hanks movie "Castaway"? If he'd worked for UPS, it would have been a situation comedy.
