  •  The sun is shining, the sun is shining!!!!! (19+ / 0-)

It's a miracle! It might not be warm enough to melt all the snow off the ground before yet-another snow storm, but it's warm enough for the sidewalks to dry off fast after yet-another-heart-attack-inducing shoveling episode, which is a good thing because it means less ice to slip on.

Oh! And the birds are singing, the birds are singing! The robins are back, bless them, but having a terrible time finding worms because the ground, although starting to thaw, keeps being covered with snow. This guy would normally be on the ground looking for his breakfast, but this morning he's up high in the neighbor's maple tree, trying to stay warm in the sun -

If you strain (but don't hurt yourself) you can see the beginnings of buds on those branches. Imagine that!

Okay - enough. I can't do Pollyanna - too much work. It's April 20, fercrissakes, beyond time for the grass to be greening, the trees and bushes to be budding, and the bulbs to be blooming. "They" say we should finally start hitting the 50s in the next week. It's about frickin' time.

And it's nice to know I'm alone ..... Happy Non-Gardening Saturday!

Out with the gloomage - in with the plumage!
