  •  love the scent of mimosa... (9+ / 0-)

they used to grow all over my neck of the woods... but then a fungal disease hit them and they were pretty much all wiped out.  However, I found that their seeds remain viable for decades, and as the back area of the yard was completely cleared, it pulled up a lot of these and many sprouted all over the place.  It grows quickly, so I now have seedling trees.  Not sure which survived the winter, so will watch them grow for another season before considering replanting to more appropriate spaces in the yard!

Our old tree (from which all these came from) was proabably about 15 feet high, provided a beautiful canopy and shade below and the scent of the flowers were intoxicating.

All the suffering of this world arises from a wrong attitude. The world is neither good or bad. It is only the relation to our ego that makes it seem the one or the other - Lama Anagorika Govinda
