I do love these tales of my favorite country after the USA, shortfinals!

...when a soldier/prince who was to become very famous, indeed - one Richard, Duke of Gloucester, later to become King Richard III, and be killed at the Battle of Bosworth Field - marched north and successfully took the town.
I am bitherly dithappointed that I will NOT get to watch the program about the much-maligned Richard III on the Smithsonian channel tonight at 9!  I  wept, I gnashed my teeth, I even clutched my gray corkscrew curls, but the fact remains:  we don't get the Smithsonian channel.  Why can't we pick and choose our cable, blast it?

When we left Scotland to drive back to England in October 1995, we passed through two ENORMOUS brown boulders, one on each side of the road.  Each bore the legend "England."  My London-born and bred husband bounced excitedly up and down in the driver's seat and I just laughed and made him take me to Chesters.  Never, ever forgot that visit to Chesters!
