      The criminals will just keep shooting people.  

      This is the argument gun-nuts constantly make.  

      Come to think of it, we should just go ahead and throw out all the drunk driving laws because people still drive drunk. Obviously bombing people should be legalized because making bombing illegal didn't stop those two losers in Boston.  While we're at it, we should make it legal to dump all manner of toxins, poisons, and carcinogens into rivers and lakes because companies do it anyway.  Heck, let's make insider trading for senators and congressmen legal.  

      Oh wait, they just did that on their own.
