at least the sane, rational ones who bothered (unlike, I must assume the majority of the SCOTUS court who ruled otherwise) to read the entire 2nd Amendment in context.

    US Constitution, 2nd Amendment:
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
In addition, can anyone explain to me how that doesn't limit "arms" to be defined as the sort of weapon the Founders were familiar with when they wrote the 2nd Amendment?

You know, a single shot flintlock rifle that taked an experienced person at least a few minutes to reload that single shot (a minnie ball, by the way, not a high velocity, armor-piercing bullet).

correct - I am drop jawed by the Heller decision and it is mind boggling to me.

FYI - the bluedog thing is about my dog ... I'm a liberal left winger and proud of it.

    •  Just like the First Amendment has nothing... (0+ / 0-)

to do with computers, or any other modern form of communication.... right?

And you appear to know nothing about guns.  So I'm additionally unimpressed by your line of "reasoning".

      Your hate-mail will be graded.

    •  It is very simple. (0+ / 0-)

Speech isn't limited to either the vibrations made from the human chest throat and mouth nor the printing press and hand-scribed writ.  Speech like arms is a larger idea which includes the means to convey ideas, those ideas themselves, and the ability to use weapons as considered for a war.

Now you have had it explained to you.
