It's obvious that that account is listed for senate. Plus his close ties to Clinton, in being and early supporter of RHC in '08, he'll benefit in having her on top of the ticket in a state she will easily carry. And most importantly he'll get the turnout from Philly that he didn't get before.

That's why he narrowly lost in the first place.

    •  Nothing is obvious. (0+ / 0-)

How do you know he's not interested in Governor?

Also, Great Moments in Sestak/WJC history:

In classic Washington fashion last summer, White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel dispatched former president Bill Clinton to put the arm on an old friend, Rep. Joe Sestak of Pennsylvania. Sestak was planning to challenge Sen. Arlen Specter in the Democratic primary; Emanuel wanted him out of the way.

In a phone call, Clinton told Sestak that he had doubts about Sestak's chances of beating Specter. Then he dangled an offer: Would Sestak be willing to drop out of the race if Obama offered him an unpaid spot on a prestigious presidential advisory board? Sestak flatly turned him down.

"I said no," he wrote Friday in a statement, adding that "the former President said he knew I'd say that and the conversation moved on to other subjects." (Sestak handily beat Specter in the May 18 primary.)

the "White House" wanted Sestak to drop his bid. Im glad he didn't, Toomey would had mopped up the floor with Specter. I'm glad PA Dems where smart enough not to vote for Specter after all those years of voting against him.

Why I think it's obvious that Sestak wants a rematch, is because Sestak has been taking shots at Toomey, even writing op-eds in the Post Gazette. That tells me he wants a rematch IMO.

which seems unlikely even if he'd won the primary, given a GOP wave and Democratic skepticism, he passed away last fall, which would have given Gov. Corbett a Republican appointment (Toomey?) for a while, though a special election would have been required  (sometime this year, I think, based on what happened after John Heinz died in 1991.)

that's how Harris Wofford became a senator in '91. If those scenarios you list out had happened, that would had put a serious monkey wrench into things.
