    Yeah, its that expensive because the state doesn't pay for it. Ambulance services are for-profit or non-profit and paid or not paid for by health insurance. So people like me who earn our living via the ambulance companies rely on those big bills for our paychecks. It isn't cheap. I'll give you some itemized numbers for the equipment we use if you want, but I think $25,000 for a heart monitor should give you an idea of the costs involved.

    I'm not sure why that makes you pissed to pay $45 dollars for life support services, but I guess I should not be surprised. I have dealt with enough people that treat ambulances as if they are taxis, or those who feel it is a god given right to be treated like a king or queen by us wage slaves for their petty health issues.

    Ok, I may be bitter, but I'll still be professional. I'm sorry you have such a large copay for ambulance services in your country.
