    Requiring an ESE student to take tests at their frustration level every year to get no real information or value for the student, giving neither the student or the parent any say. . . There is no choice involved.

    I was fine taking the SAT and every other test that I took because of a voluntary choice I made. . . That is not the situation in the post above. That said, I think standardized tests are a fine tool. So is a sledgehammer. But right now tests are being improperly used. The example above is, in my opinion, the equivalent of opening a soda with a sledgehammer. Not uncommon with tests today, sadly.
