    But the only people still listening or paying attention to Beck are a small band of idiots who he needs to keep interested enough to buy his books and anything else he is peddling.

    And that's a very small group.

    Calling other DKos members "weenies" is a personal insult and therefore against site rules.

      but early on Hitler only had a small band Of zealot followers and wasn't taken very seriously at all. His original move in 1923 (Beer Hall Putsch) was a failure. He went to jail. He actually started out scaring people about communists and moved on to Jews. I agree that Beck is not likely to be able to recreate a Hitler type situation. But I can't completely dismiss how effective his tactics have been at the right place and the right time.
