    Domesticating skunks just makes no sense, but it doesn't hinder anything that does.

    Cryonics doesn't work, but it's the best available approach to a currently impossible demand.  At best you might some day be revived as a severely mentally handicapped person with total or near-total permanent amnesia because the ice crystals had obliterated most of the fine structure of your brain.

    We need fusion, so no matter how well or how poorly we're doing at any given time, we have to keep plugging away at it.  That doesn't mean keep doing the same things that have already failed - obviously look for new approaches - but the goal is an absolute necessity.

    Don't really care about the other two.  Combat drones are just an application of telerobotics technology, not the technology itself, and in no way hinders it.

    Democracy is a habit, not a circumstance.
