  •  Paging Robert Owen (4+ / 0-)

Specifically, Robert Owen the Welsh social reformer, who said:

All the world is queer save thee and me, and even thou art a little queer
    link
That, of course, is "queer" in the 19th-century meaning of the term.

when I'd whine, gripe and criticize other people:

All the world is queer but me and thee, John, and sometimes thee is a little tetched.

Robert Owen spent a good deal of his life in Indiana...his message obviously spread among Hoosier generations.

Trivia:  His son, Richard Owen, taught at Indiana University and was later President of Purdue University.  Richard, a man steeped in science, was a hypochondriac and because he treated himself with formaldehyde (among many other 'medications' ) it was said that he embalmed himself.

"Evil is a lack of empathy, a total incapacity to feel with their fellow man." - Capt. Gilbert,Psychiatrist, at the end of Nuremberg trials.
