    for consumers.

    Sales taxes ARE regressive.

No 'spin' can 'put lipstick on this pig,' LOL!

Especially an outrage considering that the Senate voted overwhelmingly in favor of Dem Senator Mark Warner's Amendment to 'either eliminate or reduce' the inheritance tax.

I've posted that here several times.  If my memory serves me correctly, that was put up by Patty Murray (for Warner) on or about March 22 (at the same time that they voted to not apply the Chained CPI on "veteran's benefits."

Funny how that story made headlines, but if I hadn't been searching for more details on Sanders' Amendment, I seemingly would never have seen or heard a word about the Warner Amendment passing overwhelmingly the same day.

Here's the link and the excerpt from the  Congressional Digest for March  22, 2013 for the Warner Amendment:

By 80 yeas to 19 nays (Vote No. 66), Murray (for Warner) Amendment No. 693, to repeal or reduce the estate tax, but only if done in a fiscally responsible way.  Pages S2284, S2285-86.
