    yes...because living in the state with the highest property taxes in the nation - taxes that would blow people's minds in most of the other states because it's that insane, and  with the highest cost of living around, i'm really caring about this.  i pay so much taxes to the state, and federal, i can't even keep up anymore.  I used to not care - i'm a progressive. It's getting on my last nerve.
    and yes - our property taxes just went up for the 200th  time here in NJ and I'm crabby.
    I'm just not going to buy as much - i've had it.

      That's a fair opinion, but it's disconnected from the point of my original comment—which is that it's inaccurate for you to write that by buying online, you "saved" the cost of state sales tax. Unless you declared your online purchases on your state income tax return and paid a use tax for them, you evaded taxes that you legally owed.
