    Flying from the NE to DFW is bothersome. The media types are ambitious and they seek the bright lights, they want to be celebrities. So, they stay close to Broadway. The media attract such people, it is natural, it should not be surprising.  The local media types near West are in the hinterlands, and they do go to the fires and murders, but the big boys, the producers in the NE know that they will not get promotions and perks with such stories, they get it with stories that are close to home, close to Broadway, close to the Boston, NYC, DC corridor.

    So, where is the cynicism in that. People are what people do.

      just very real.  They are what they are, to the detriment of actual journalism, covering events, and factual-ish-ness.  Indeed, why bother with the second-most populous state?  That's not in the least the real point.
