  •  An office does not care about respect (0+ / 0-)

it has no feelings or wants or anything of the sort. In germany the role of chancelor (sp? im german and i don't think i've ever typed the english version of the word) would be the closest office to what the president is in the USA. So in your opinion the office of chancelor should deserve respect, yet one of our chancelors was Adolf Hitler, whom I presume noone on here would want to show any respect. An office is nothing, but a means for Power, and deserves nothing. The individual holding the office might deserve respect, or might deserve contempt or anything in between. I don't respect hitler and I don't respect Bush (not trying to equate them with this sentence) I do respect Willy Brandt and i do respect FDR. Same office but completely opposed feelings.
