  •  Been a Schweitzer fan ever since (0+ / 0-)

he first crossed my radar a few years back.  I echo some here who say "can't support ALL his positions" but he is different, and has a maverick type appeal.  My ideal would be his getting elected as Baucus's (who makes me puke) replacement, make himself known to the nation, and join a Hillary for President ticket in 2016 as VP, paving the way for a future Presidential run in 2020 -- he'll be 61 in 2016, 65 in 2020 -- he's young enough to strategize that.  I believe his being on a Hillary ticket would get Dems many independent votes in 2016.

Although I was hoping Schweitzer would run for Pres in 2016, I think Hillary's recent strong showings versus many entrenched Repubs make her the strong favorite.  But she'll be 69 in 2016, so maybe a one-term Pres if Schweitzer is waiting in the wings.

In short, I agree with Kos.

Americans who vote against their own interests are driven by "the human need to find a strand of significance that will hold everything together that isn't on TV..." (quote is from P. Roth in "Sabbath's Theater")
