It isn't mostly filler in our news - it's concentration on one story that's determined to be eyeball grabbing and covering it endlessly until the next eyeball grabbing story comes up.

We don't get news anymore from the "news".  We get balloon boy, the latest missing pretty young white woman, and talking points.  It's why they keep losing viewers despite their focus on sensationalized stories, true or not.

There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.

Sure, it's one story, but it's told ad nauseum until the next one crops up. Very little information is conveyed in the telling of that story the 47th time. I content that beyond the first couple of hours it ceases to be "news" and becomes "Ooh! Bright shiny object! Keep looking at us (and stay tuned thru the umpteenth commercial break!)" I claim that's filler as much as stories about the type of socks the killer wore or why their barber thinks they were "such nice young boys".

You can't assassinate the character of any of modern conservative. You'd have to find where it was buried, dig it up, resurrect it, then kill it. And killing a zombie isn't really assassination, is it?
