    (or lack thereof)...the we should all just sit around hungry, cold, exposed to the elements waiting for God to provide. Doesn't it show "lack of faith" to build our own shelters and obtain our own food?

      And some believers have done that. Others believe, based on various combinations of sect doctrine, scriptural text, revelation, and blind faith, that God wants them to do X and Y but not Z. If we don't consider religious faith fundamentally unworthy of respect, why is any of the above answers superior to any others?

      I have never understood how supporters of any flavor of religion can seriously contend that their flavor makes more sense than any other. When Rule #1 of the entire system is "Make up whatever notions you'd like," what grounds can there possibly be for intramural stone-casting?
