    the more motivated Republicans will be to vote -- not for him, but against her.  I suspect that at some point you'll see ads that say a vote for her is a vote to make Nancy Pelosi speaker again.  That kind of thing will make Republicans vote no matter how sordid Sanford's personal life is.  They don't like what Sanford did, but they REALLY hate the notion of Rep. Pelosi becoming speaker again.

      around here. Often on cars of old folks being hurt by Republicans but "Freedom!" or something keeps them voting Republican.

      You can't assassinate the character of any of modern conservative. You'd have to find where it was buried, dig it up, resurrect it, then kill it. And killing a zombie isn't really assassination, is it?

      Let me give another example.  Massachusetts voters (including myself) kept Ted Kennedy in the Senate for another 40 years after Chappaquidick.  Whatever personal shortcomings Ted had, he was seen as a liberal bulwark against Republicanism.  it's usually more about the ideology.

      Having said this, I still hope Colbert Busch can pull it off.
