    to the left, but the corporations that own the newspapers are not, and they have increasingly made inroads into content. Years ago, contact between the business side (advertising) and editorially was extremely limited. That line has been obliterated in many papers these days. It's the difference between viewing news as a public service, as it once was, and treating it as any other business with a focus on the bottom line, as it is now.
