    I, as you may have gathered, do not think that the shutdown was warranted. I don't think that the shutdown over the snowstorm was warranted, either.

    If some parent during a snowstorm has to drive a few blocks to buy milk at a convenience store for their hungry children, I don't think that they should face a year in jail.

    We have had killers on the loose before and we did not overreact. Remember that guy who killed Versace?

    The fact that local residents were not bothered by this government overreach is one of the things that bothers me the most.

    I would also like to point out that the shutdown did not work. The suspect was less than a mile from the gunfight and they didn't find him. It wasn't until the lockdown was called off, that a private citizen felt allowed to leave his house and found him in his boat with a blood trail.
