    market at work.

They were allowed to run their business almost without restraint. They ran it sloppily, and blew their plant up putting themselves out of business.

That's the 'free market hammer' weeding out the weak for ya.

Oh, and the inevitable and regretful dead people collateral. No one that espouses the free market hammer solution would suggest it doesn't swing a little wildly at times.

So it appears Rick Perry's all about not letting a few Texans getting free market hammered to death get in the way of his plan for job creation in his free market Valhalla. As indeed, in his mind perhaps, the dead are to be worshiped for their sacrifice.

Republicans are some mean SOBs. But a Texas Republican? That's another creature altogether. Couldn't he at least let the dust settle and the bodies grow cold?

Physics is bulls**t. Don't let them fool you. Fire IS magic.

    •  I like to use The Jungle as an example (0+ / 0-)

of what happens when corporations get to determine how workers are treated.

Upton Sinclair's 'The Jungle' reportedly made Teddy Roosevelt spew as he read it while eating dinner.

The book literally changed the meatpacking industry. But the workers depicted suffered horrible injuries, disgusting and dangerous working conditions and terrible poverty.

      Can't happen now?
Bullshit! You give them an inch and they turn into Walmart. If the Waltons gave up ONE MEASELY NICKEL of every dollar they make, their workers could have decent lives.

They won't even turn loose of a nickel to benefit their workers.

Now ask yourselves, if Walmart opened a meat-packing company, how much different would it be from the conditions described in The Jungle?

THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN CONTROL PEOPLE IS TO LIE TO THEM. You can write that down in your book in great big letters. -- L. Ron Hubbard Technique 88
