and if you think the current president is any better about such things...dream on.

Treat the world (yourself, and others) as part of a living organism. Everyone and everything will benefit.

I actually work for EPA (as a career staff person), and I can tell you that while I'm disappointed in this Administration, it is absolute sweetness and light compared to the Bush Administration.

Our EPA bosses - the politically appointed ones - are people who have worked all their lives for clean air and water, headed up state programs, and been generally in the trenches for the common good. Obama, while he disappoints, funded a lot of RE/EE work through the stimulus and continues to through DOE programs, and has done some good things at EPA, like fuel efficiency standards.

By comparison, our bosses during the Bush years were former industry lobbyists from K Street law firms - foxes guarding the chicken coops, and complete corporate tools. They undermined clean air programs and made a joke of good government.

I have many issues with Obama, but when you throw him together with Bush, you remind me of Nader dissing Gore in 2000. Get a grip.

“Better the occasional faults of a government that lives in a spirit of charity than the consistent omissions of a government frozen in the ice of its own indifference.” -- FDR, 1936
