  •  "Twitter shares" I assume are measured by (4+ / 0-)

using the tweet button included with each diary, correct?

I guess what I'm wondering is if retweets of a diary-announcing tweet by others not originally using the diary tweet button are included in the tally.

Somebody has to do something, and it's just incredibly pathetic that it has to be us.

Because many Kossacks have followers that aren't themselves Kossacks, but have certainly retweeted these type of tweets, further proliferating the topic.

Trust me, if something is taking off on Twitter, we can track it using other tools. Same with Facebook shares. There are entire apps that do nothing but track your content on social media.

We don't depend on those little bugs, and thank heavens for that. But, eyeballing a story, they're at least a basic indicator of how something is doing.

Thanks for your replies, Markos. :)

with social media so hot, there'a an entire cottage industry of social media tracking apps. They're all recent arrivals, the next wave in tech startups.
