  •  Most important because it exposes Obama and (19+ / 0-)

the whole grand conspiracy he and the Hill are engaged in with the plutocracy to continue to search for ways to enrich the rich at the expense of everyone else.

Frankly, I'd rather take down Exxon or Goldman Sachs, the way we're taking down RushBeckistan, than elect another "better" Democrat who's going to wind up singing for the bankster choir.

Yeah.  That's what exposes.  The whole grand conspiracy that is so universal that it remained hidden until someone made a spreadsheet error and revealed the secret island headquarters of The Conspiracy.

The attempts of people to shoehorn their narratives in any headline is without limit.

That's not even "gun control". It's more like "massacre control".

      •  Well, we have a choice (10+ / 0-)

Given the debacle involving bad math and conflicts of interest with Pete Peterson putting everyone on his payroll, we have a decision to make.

Did Obama err in not doing due diligence before he came up with the deficit reduction theme for his presidency?

or did he knowingly use the flawed research to support a policy decision he plans to push regardless of the facts?

He doesn't appear to have changed his mind about the Grand Bargain, facts be damned.  What conclusion do we draw from that?

or administration policies.  Its thesis and all the austerity theory were the darlings of Europe and the republicans.

That this paper or any of the austerity theories have any part in Obama's policy proposals.

Noting the false premise is the best answer anyone can give.

i.e. that "this paper or any of the austerity theories have any part in Obama's policy proposals."  Back that up with facts because your opinion is worth no more or less than anyone else's.  So, where are your proofs that the R-R paper (and book) or any of the austerity theories have no part in Obama's policy proposals?

Erskine Bowles and Alan Simpson are both paid by Pete Peterson, who also funded the discredited austerity study.

Many of Obama's closest allies are also on his payroll, including Ed Rendell.

He's been selling since his first term when he pushed the Cat Food Commission and complained endlessly (an vaguely) about shared sacrifice.

He now has to decide whether he wants to stay with his (thus far) underperforming and punitive economic policies or take a new tack.

I do find it encouraging that Obama's most ardent supporters are denying he supports austerity.  It's a step in the direction of admitting he was wrong and that the austerity fad is over.

Now we just have to keep apply more and more pressure to the WH and Congressional Dems to make them fix the economy and stop shipping jobs overseas.

has just come to the fore. Austerity and free market capitalism are conservative bread and butter.

IIRC, the US fared better than other advanced Western nations because Obama did a stimulus, albeit, not large enough. It is because everyone, including the Dems, have bought the meme that the stimulus didn't work that we find ourselves here.

We are living in a new (miserable) economy and the rules have to change to comport with technology and a larger international market.

Unfortunately, a lazy media and RW 24/7 newsertainment complex have conflated deficit, short term debt and long term debt and the American people are the worse for it. I expect that not many people realize that the Sequester is costing more money.

The RnR paper has been the justification of austerity, but I doubt conservatives will let facts get in their way.

conserva-Dems, too, because they support austerity, too. After all, they're ok with cutting Social Security and whatever else is necessary to cut spending and strike a Grand Bargain, in the midst of an ongoing Great Recession for the 90%.
