Look what it got Dumbya and Dickie
The entire board of PNAC was represented in some way or another in the Cheney maladministration, and the invasion of Iraq was the fulfillment of a long-held dream.
Saddam (the guy who threatened to kill Dumbya's Daddy)
I've always thought this was a load of horse shit.  Not that he didn't do that, but that the dredging up of that story was any kind of motivating force other than to appeal to the stupider parts of the American electorate.  And by "stupider," I mean W himself.

After all, the Boy King's advisors held HW in contempt because he didn't "finish the job" in the first Gulf war.

The whole thing makes me feel nauseous.

    •  Yes - and I also get nauseous... (6+ / 0-)

... and feel jittery and icky.  I think it's a PTSD reaction.  I literally can.not stand to see the ugly little pit viper or hear his voice.  Really.  I start feeling shaky and jittery.

During the 2000 prez "debates" when Dumbya said he "wouldn't do any nation building," I was watching and I knew the evil little cretin was lying through his teeth.

I went on a rant and journaled that if he were elected he'd start a war with Iraq to "finish his daddy's war" (Dumbya's daddy issues were quite obvious), this country would go into a recession, and then the punditocracy started talking and said they thought the stupid one "won" the "debates."  That set me off worse and I journaled that I didn't see why/how anyone could vote for any man who is so obviously stupid as he is.

Well, two out of three isn't bad for a correctness factor, I guess.  Not once have I ever considered Dumbya a legitimate president, however.  $COTU$ gave him the first term and regardless of the truth, there were too many e-voting machine irregularities in OH to make me comfortable with the results.  I think e-voting machines should be banned.  Paper ballots - with optical scanners - like what we have in MN is good.  We're a bit "notorious" for recounts in this state (a couple of local races over the years were decided on just one vote, literally, in recounts, but everyone is aware of the larger recounts), and because we've had them so often we all know the recounts are held in public places where everyone can see the process.

Minnesotans are very patient about recounts.  We know hand-counts of paper ballots are accomplished in this state with all deliberate and careful haste, done in public and monitored, so when the FL recount started the recount I was prepared to only pay attention to news and monitor it from afar and wait until the recount was done.  I was screeching by the time of the $COTU$ decision of 12 Dec 2000.  I still believe the recount should have proceeded..., and after that election they needed to get rid of the whole thing with computer cards and hanging chads and switch to paper ballots and filling in ovals.

As soon as I heard e-voting machines with no receipt later for the '04 election, I knew that was not going to go well.

SO many mistakes.....  Uff da!  I just can't endure thinking about the horrors of the Bushista years..., and the ensuing continuation of the Bushista crimes now in the Obama administration is just too much to bear.  No wonder I have a high blood pressure problem....

      •  My husband used to warn me about my BP ... (7+ / 0-)

... every time W was speechifyin' and I was yelling "F#ck you" at the teevee.

        Then came "Mission Accomplished."

I've known Mr. L for nearly thirty years but I don't know when I've ever seen him as angry as he was that day.

See, Mr. L is a Naval aviation vet who was attached to two different aircraft carriers during the Viet Nam war ... you know, the same war for which Cheney had "other priorities" and W was AWOL.

The whole staging of the event sent him right around the bend, and he was screaming unspeakable things at the teevee.

Later, after he had calmed down and I judged the time was right, I asked him about his blood pressure.  :-)

I lost friends I'd gone to high school with during that bloody gawdawful mess.  Small community, small town, and we lost a bunch of 'em.  Still pisses me off.
