  •  It's pretty stunning that they didn't even have (7+ / 0-)

overnight security for that amount of dangerous material.

Fry, don't be a hero! It's not covered by our health plan!

also removed the annual "right to know" reports from public view.  Before, you could go on the internet, look up a company, and see a list, and the rough amounts of toxic, explosive, and hazardous chemicals stored on the site.

You could also read estimates of how far away people would be killed, burned, injured, and poisoned of there was a minor, or major toxic release or fire at the plant.

For instance I could look up an ethanol refinery, see it stored 2 million gallons of ethanol on site, and folks would be killed or injured for half a mile if the tanks blew up.

After 9/11, you might have to travel 200 miles to a Federal EPA office just to look at a report and take notes, since you would not be allowed to make a copy.

This means that someone in West, Texas, could not go on the internet, look at the fertilizer plant's filings, and go hmm, they left off the ammonium nitrate, I'd better call Texas DEQ.

Orly, it isn't evidence just because you downloaded it from the internet.

requesting key data for a facility might be viewed as "suspicious" activity, and who knows what the government did with that information.

I got on the "let him fly, but search and hassle him" list, afterwards.
