  •  While I was watching, the adult dipped its beak (9+ / 0-)

    into the water and transferred it over to the juvie, who was standing right next to it. The juvie swallowed the water, and then they went over to the peanuts to learn what to do with them. The juvie watches parent weigh the peanuts and then take one up into a tree. Juvie ignores the weighing but also gets a peanut and takes it away. I believe they are being trained. When they grow up, they may see the good of weight in a peanut shell. Right now, they have enough to worry about.
