The House and Senate passed a bill repealing a portion of something the President says he would like to see repealed in whole. How does he politically justify vetoing it without looking like either a hypocrite or a fool?

I know, he already looks like a hypocrite and a fool to some but that isn't reflective of broader opinion.

Nothing human is alien to me.

without simply grabbing the money from some other program, it would be easy to support as a partial repeal of the sequester. The President absolutely should sign that hypothetical bill as a step in the right direction.

As it is though, every dollar spent to save an air traffic controller from furlough is a dollar not available for Head Start or another valuable program.

Pretty sure that dollar won't be coming from Defense.

When you triangulate everything, you can't even roll downhill...
