Yes, it was all in good gentlemanly courtesy and nicety that our president acted in such a kind manner towards his predecessor and guest of honor by not mentioning any of that pesky and inconvenient non-weapons of non-destruction stuff.

And it was so incredibly classy of G.W. Bush to resist the temptation to gush thanks to the president for "vindicating" much of W's misdeeds that carry-on to this day, i.e., expansion and extension of the "Patriot" Act; warrantless wiretapping; failure to reign-in corruption on Wall Street; validation of TARP; keeping Guantanamo Bay bustling; etc.

If anything, the president has been something of a show-off with his blatantly Bush-like antics of maintaining the authority to unilaterally suspend Americans' due process protections (sans legislative oversight and judicial review); the Monsanto Protection Act; development of legislation to provide corporations with (even) greater influence in public policy; authorization of 30,000 drones in the sky by the year 2023; appointment of the Bush administration's torture adviser as the country's top spy; an Affordable Care Act that serves as one big wet kiss to the health insurance industry - rather than provide all Americans with the right to an equitable medical care system; etc.

Truly a day for all Americans to celebrate liberty and freedom.  Just think, in a few years, these two great leaders get to gush all over each other again at the opening of the next presidential lie-brary.

"The highest patriotism is not blind acceptance of official policy, but a love of one's country deep enough to call her to a higher plain." --George McGovern
