Now, when you say "war", you mean what?   Not the same type of thing that was going on with 140,000 troops.

That's not even "gun control". It's more like "massacre control".

      •  There's nothing "exactly" about it (0+ / 0-)

Nobody knows what you mean by "war".  I'm trying to think of something that can be done by three thousand troops and it's not "war" as people use the word.

But I guess nobody is going to earn points down at the Kaffeehaus by saying "Obama wanted to train Iraqi troops" or "Obama wanted to maintain security for civilians."

        •  I'm confused. (0+ / 0-)

I'm not the one who said "Obama didn't want to end the war."  I'm saying that the reality is different from the picture some folks want to paint of Obama being no different from Hundred Years McCain.  I agree with you.  Even if the deal had gone through, a 95% troop withdrawal is not a whole lot different than a 100% withdrawal, and as we've seen, some folks here are upset that we have diplomatic resources and security in Iraq even though there are no troops left.

            •  Easy to do. (0+ / 0-)

I responded to a request for facts upthread specifically to douse any hyperbole about what the president's intentions were.  (Maybe that's what caused the confusion.)  There's a tendency for some folks to leave out 90% of the story and just say "he never wanted to end the war" or some such nonsense.
