If you really think getting someone in favor of single payer health care from a red state is unacceptable because he is too pro-fossil fuel, then actually do something about it.

One possible route to accomplish this would be through a petition at SignOn. Usually, they test every petition created there to a segment of MoveOn's enormous 8 million person email list. The better the petition does, the more people they send it to. What's more, they really love state-focused petitions.

So, I'd suggest going to SignOn, and create an anti-draft Schweitzer petition. It's a pretty good bet that MoveOn will at least test it to at least a portion of their Montana list, which is probably a pretty representative sample of the netroots.

Then, sit back and see what response Montana progressive have to an anti-Schweitzer petition.

At Daily Kos, I hope we have the ability to to allow diarists to create their own petitions soon. We don't yet, though, and there is a lot we are trying to accomplish with a small activism staff and a huge amount of technology needs. While we get our act together, SignOn is probably the way to go for stuff like this.

although it probably won't be an online petition.

I certainly am going to do something about electing politicians who get the magnitude of the climate crisis.

And good to know about the upcoming DKos petition work...although, given the recent comments on enviro/climate not testing well, it sounds like I might be better served by Signon if petitions are the way to go.

      Do the math. #unfrackCal. @RL_Miller

They are how all the big online activist groups formed. Basically every single one.

SignOn also allows you to send emails to the people who signed your petitions.

        It is an interesting issue.

I repeatedly claimed that Obama would never propose cuts to social security. I was wrong. Then again, I also claimed, repeatedly, that Rick Perry would win the 2012 Election, and that The Supreme Court would overturn Health Care Reform.
