    Dirty Wars, by Jeremy Scahill right now. It is kind of hard going since it is so depressing, and I haven't even gotten to the really bad stuff yet.

    The Black Count is one of those books that is just fun. I learned so much more than i had planned and often stopped in the middle struck by how very little I knew when I started, even though I thought I knew something about the French Revolution.

    And while I knew that the empty treasury leading up to it had been blamed on the court favorites and Marie Antoinette, I didn't really realize that the dire financial straits that the monarchy found itself in was due in large part to financing our revolution.
