    here in Houston.  This kind of storm is not at all unusual, and since the local terrain is flat as the proverbial pancake, it floods very easily.  If you've lived here for long, you know which underpasses to avoid when it's raining a lot (hint: the ones with the flood gauge painted on the wall). Cars driving into floodwaters happens all the time.

    Now, the abovementioned Tropical Storm Allison, THAT was a storm.  One part of I-10 through downtown Houston had 12 feet of water on it.  Not only were the cars flooded out, but there were 18-wheelers literally floating down the freeway.  Yesterday's storm?  Meh.
