    It was legally indefensible, in fact.  Florida state law, NOT federal law, mandates the manner in which Florida's electors are chosen.  and the Florida Supreme Court, NOT any federal court, interprets Florida law.

    It had to play out in Florida.  Then, if Florida sent in two sets of electors (the legislature, which was Republican, threatened to invalidate the votes altogether and send its own slate) the Congress would decide.

    there was no role whatsoever assigned to the Supreme Court in this debacle.

    In the end, this woman signed onto a decision that they had jurisdiction because recounting the votes violated the equal protection rights of Florida's citizens under the 14th amendment.  Dumbest, most trumped up rationale in court history.Yeah, it violates the Constitution to recount votes.  Good God Almighty.

    Yeah, I'll never get over this one.
