and I know many here don't like it for its childishness, but it indicates a feisty, plucky campaign operation. Sort of an esprit de corps one gets when you feel you are in a real fight and plan to leave it all on the field. When you're campaign staff is bored and dispirited, they don't do shit like this.

There is a good reason Mitch McConnell keeps winning elections despite having tough opponents: pure d ruthlessness. Democrats would do themselves well to be even more ruthless and far more aggressive if he is to ever be unseated.

      Ditch Mitch KY, Matt Z

I think it's beyond cheesy and he looks old and totally out of place. And it's not very welcoming with the fake smile and unrealistic leg crossing. (These observations were made setting aside how much I hate that no-good prick)

      •  His fundraisers will eat it up. (3+ / 0-)

And so will the Washington establishment. As well as the GOP base. Just remember that our side isn't the target audience. McConnell is trying to protect his right flank from a primary challenge. That means ginning up the base with red meat and depriving any opponent of a funding source.

Not to mention his campaign is sending signals to any potential primary challengers that Team Mitch will wage total war on anyone who gets in the way.
