  •  I guess that I was lucky in that my mom was (0+ / 0-)

pretty progressive. She worked in a warehouse. There was an openly gay male co-worker. This was like 1974 or so. I worked there in the summer for a 1.50 an hr! woohoo!!! Anyway, mom noted that K was an openly gay man. She said that he was kind of weird - he believed that eating strawberries with mold on them was natural penicillin. I finally got to meet him. He's was oh hell, probably in his late 50's. Yep. That is the worst thing my mom said about him. I was like 14 and was like - seems ok to me when I met him. So I guess - the bottom line is that I was never taught to hate. It was the same in the 60's when the civil rights thing was hot and heavy. I was really a little kid then. Both my parents never spoke bigotry. My dad worked at the factory with a lot of AAmerican guys. They all got along. I am very grateful to my parents for being tolerant, one of their kids didn't grow up as a bigot. Not sure what happened to my sibling.  And this was in MI, not CA.

if a habitat is flooded, the improvement for target fishes increases by an infinite percentage...because a habitat suitability index that is even a tiny fraction of 1 is still infinitely higher than zero, which is the suitability of dry land to fishes.
