different Southern Baptist churches in Colorado in the 90s. Maybe it was because they couldn't get away with saying openly that only Baptists go to heaven in a state where the SBC doesn't have a strong foothold, but the SBC churches I attended did not teach that non-Baptists go to hell

liberal bias = failure to validate or sufficiently flatter the conservative narrative on any given subject

    •  reminds me of an old joke (13+ / 0-)

A man dies and goes before St. Peter at the pearly gates.
"Well, you lived a fairly righteous life," says Peter, "so, you're in. But you never declared a religion.  Its not too late, so let me show you around.

He's shown the Catholics, the Episcopals, the Methodists, the Presbyterians, even the Buddists, the Shia and the Sunni, all of whom are dancing, parting and having a great time.

then, they enter a long, long hall, and Peter warns him "you have to be extra quiet here"  and they reach the end of the hall where another group of people are having a somewhat more subdued party, but still appear to be having a good time.

after coming back to the end of the hall, Peter asks "so, what do you prefer?"

"They all look great, but why did we have to be so quiet with that last group?"

"Oh, those are the Southern Baptists.  They think they are the only ones here."

We have no desire to offend you -- unless you are a twit!
