  •  Let's keep calm (7+ / 0-)

Lynch's campaign has been all about big signs (and now misleading robocalls, which come not from the campaign directly but from the national ironworkers' union).

Markey's campaign has been all about identifying supporters, block by block, and getting them out to vote. In the past three days, they've called my house 3 times, knocked on the door once, and left a door hanger reminding us to vote. I've gotten 14 emails from the campaign since Saturday. They're not doing nothing.

Republicans...think the American standard of living is a fine thing--so long as it doesn't spread to all the people. And they admire the Government of the United States so much that they would like to buy it. Harry S. Truman

    •  ok. i'm keeping calm. but... (5+ / 0-)

i got Lynch robocalls from Boston City Council President Stephen J. Murphy.

i got Gomez robocalls from a very pleasant sounding young woman.  As well as the young man who approached me on the street.

I have talked to an awful lot of people in the last few days who did not know the primary was today.

i have gotten exactly zero emails, zero calls, zero robocalls, and zero mailers from Markey.

i am a Democratic voter in a high-turnout part of the city (Brighton).

that means they either failed to identify me as a supporter or are taking me for granted.  both of those are bad.

Politics is like driving. To go backward put it in R. To go forward put it in D.

Markey's not doing robocalls or mailers, though LCV and some other groups I think were doing them on his behalf. I got emails because I signed up for them.

What you should have gotten is a knock on the door or a phone call. They might not have your number. A few days ago I asked a neighbor who leads canvassing shifts if anyone had knocked on our door. She said they had, about five times, but we weren't home. We're often out and about on the weekends (sometimes knocking on other people's doors!). This Saturday we were home and they knocked.

I'm going to do some GOTV tonight. I'll ask them what's going on in Brighton and might go over there instead of here in Newton.
