Court and the possibilities of two or more Justices retiring during Obama's seconf term. The Republican plan is to block all Judicial appointments so when it comes time for appointment of replacements for the Supreme Court the Republicans will just say "this is what we have been doing all along against this president". When the failure for the Senate to act on a Supreme Court Justice, they expect that Obama will be so frustrated that when the Republicans put forward the most right wing conservative person that they can find the president will cave-in and accept this person using the argument that the American people are suffering through the inability of Washington's inability to fill this Supreme Court position. So we will witness the engineered spectacle of a supposed liberal Democrat president being pressured by the Republicans into appointing a strong conservative person to the Supreme Court.

The thing that really pisses me off is that Barack Obama is actually a center conservative Democrat, which makes him weak and ineffective when it comes to dealing with all of the "yellow dog" conservatives in Congress who sit on both sides of the aisle. If Obama was a truly progressive politician he would have long ago formulated a strategic plan to find the pressure points needed to be able bring the Congressional conservatives in line to support his legislative agenda. His basic conservatism explains why throughout his first term he was always holding out hope that the Republicans would eventually "do the right thing" and start to do their jobs in Congress. Obama continued to cling to this "audacity of Hope" even though the Republicans were beating Obama over the head with everything that they could get their hands on.
