Let me give you a bit of hope here. My nephew Tristan was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. He has not had an easy time of it. He is now a Junior in High School. He joined the technical theater group and that with his love of computers and all things tech became a beacon for him. He was just named Student of the Year at his High School.

Don't give up. You will find your niche and succeed. Asperger's is not a death sentence. You will succeed and find your strength. I had faith in Tristan and I have faith in you.

It's just very difficult to expect anything to come through when a person faces as much rejection as I have. People like us are forced to 'prove' ourselves again and again and to be honest, I'm dead tired of it.

I didn't really have any help until just a few years ago and it was pure hell before that. The other thing that makes life difficult is the fact that trying to get any sort of empathy out of people in general is like trying to squeeze water out of a stone.

I write a series called 'My Life as an Aspie', documenting my experiences before and after my A.S. diagnosis as a way to help fellow Aspies and parents of Aspies and spread awareness. If I help just one person by doing this, then I've served a purpose.
