  •  Why not? (0+ / 0-)

Wouldn't she be at exactly the same point Obama was when he ran?

    •  Quite untrue. (0+ / 0-)

President Obama didn't drop out of the University of Chicago and end up a Senator. He had extensive election experience behind him prior to running for President, both as director of Project Vote in 1992 and subsequent wins and a loss in his own runs. The election experience between the two is pretty vast.

      •  I disagree. (0+ / 0-)

It's true that he was a state legislator before becoming Senator, but 4 of the 5 elections he ran in Illinois were basically unopposed. The one competitive election he ran against Bobby Rush for U.S. House Rep he lost badly. He won over 70% of the vote in his US Senate bid against Alan Keyes. That's basically unopposed. The other three elections, he literally ran unopposed.

Elizabeth Warren, by contrast, won her first time at bat in a highly-contested, nationally visible US Senate Election. She beat Scott Brown and millions of Wall St. money. To suggest she just dropped out of Harvard and into the Senate is inaccurate in my opinion.

I think that Obama had marginally more experience than Warren would have when he ran for President.
