  •  Julian and Joaquin (0+ / 0-)

Joaquin--now Representative Castro--introduced Julian, the mayor of San Antonio.

They aren't the kind of "Democrats" you want on the top of a ticket if you care about the values and traditions of the Democratic Party. (E.g. they keep trumpeting San Antonio's "economic vitality" when 1) 70% of their city lives under the poverty line and large sections of the city have little to no civil infrastructure 2) the jobs they bring to San Antonio are largely scab labor jobs that are relocating from larger and more union-friendly cities and 3) academic achievement for youths in San Antonio is horribly low--mainly because most of them are poor and their parents are working 8-12 hour days for $2 an hour.)

The fact that non-San Antonians can't keep their names straight gives me hope that the DNCC spotlight isn't going to do much for their careers. You should only be cheering them on if you are on the board of a large energy company or land development entity in South Texas.

Every human being must be viewed according to what it is good for; for none of us, no, not one, is perfect; and were we to love none who had imperfections, this world would be a desert for our love.
