    And what form might that have taken? Perhaps by assisting the bombers after the fact? Stick with the fact that obstructing justice in this case is not on the same level as running a stop sign.

      two days in between the time of the bombing and the time that Tsarnaev was identified as a suspect IN the bombing.

      There was plenty of time for friends to "help" Tsarnaev with something ("hey dude, wanna help me move some of this junk out of the room?") before actually being aware that he was the bomber.  If they did that and then lied about it to authorities after the fact, that's enough to be taken into custody on obstruction charges.  And to have the authorities put pressure on you to tell everything you know.

      I'm not saying that is what happened, but it is not implausible that something along these lines may have happened and the authorities would use it as leverage to further their investigation.

      Obstruction after the fact covers a wide swath o' stuff, does it not?  I guess we could ask Scooter Libby about that...
