    The Pope is one of the best hopes the human race has for convincing the middle class, the lower middle class, and the poor that striving for the bling of the upper classes (greed) is not in anyone's best interests.

    The groups above represent the majority of humans, and many need to be disabused of the notion that having more is a better way.

    I recall a Zen saying, "The way to have more is to want less." That's in total concordance with the Christian message to love one's neighbor as one self, when greed and upward mobility is clearly contrary to that in a world of declining resources.

    Oh, another Christian message: Heaven is in your mind, and it's here today.
