  •  The Silent Majority (6+ / 0-)

Conservative lawmakers and politicians across the country are placing the interests of their own party and their own sick and twisted ideology above the safety and protection of innocent Americans and innocent children. I don't know if these hacks really think they are winning support from the majority of the nation with such unhinged language in support of all guns, all the time, but this strategy is clearly not working. Most Americans want tighter gun regulations and want common sense reforms that will stop these mass killings. If Republicans in Congress or Wayne LaPierre or any number of the red-faced pro-gun anarchists-- all a tiny minority of public opinion -- can't take common sense reforms, they are free to leave the country immediately.  -  progressive

New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte was confronted during a town hall meeting by Erica Lafferty over Ayotte's vote that helped scuttle the recent gun control bill in Washington. Lafferty's mother was one of the 27 victims in the Newtown shooting.

Ayotte has become a target of anti-gun groups since voting against expanded background checks. In her first return to her home state since the vote Ayotte hosted a town hall of about 150 people.

After 45 minutes, Ayotte had only answered one question related to guns and the crowd was starting to become agitated, according to The New York Times.

"You like to regulate that," Eric Knuffke, 72, yelled, irate over the questions that were being answered. "But you don't want to regulate guns."

to stop calling people wanting reasonable controls on guns "anti-gun" .
I'm not anti-gun at all, I support people's right to own firearms, with registration, mandatory safety classes, etc. and if you're not old enough to drive a car, you're probably not old enough to own a gun.
